Vax filter types explained
Vax doesn't name filters after the vacuum. It gives each kit a Type number and prints that, plus a long part number like 1-1-xxxxxx-xx, on the pack. The Type is the bit people search for, but it's the model code on your machine's rating plate that tells you which Type you need, and a couple of ranges changed Type between versions.
| Type | Vax part | Models | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type 90 | 1-1-134227-00, 1-7-142205 | Air Lift 2, Air Lift Drive, Air Lift Steerable, Air Lift Steerable (2020s codes), Air Pet Max, Air Stretch Advance, Air Stretch, Mach Air, U84-AS-Se, VRS115 / VRS116 | Vax, 28 Oct 2026 |
| Type 97 | 1-1-134248-00 | C87 / C88 cylinders, V-200 cylinders | Vax, 28 Oct 2026 |
Reading a Vax rating plate
Vax puts the rating label on a white or silver sticker on the back of the machine or underneath it. The model number is a mix of letters and numbers such as U84-AL-Pe or UCA1GEV1, and the serial number is 21 digits long.
Once you've got the code, type it into the finder. Codes like U91-MA-B or CLSV-VDKS work as typed.
Batteries are simpler. Vax says any ONEPWR battery works in any ONEPWR machine. The 4.0Ah one is the BV29040, and you'll find it on the ONEPWR Pace page.
